Every airline that values its reputation and values its customers has frequent flyer reward programs. It's hard to believe, but it seems that such programs are that rare case when free cheese is not only in a mousetrap. True, you still have to earn money for cheese first. Find out how to do this in a brief overview of loyalty programs of airlines flying from Minsk.

First, a few general comments. Participation in the programs is voluntary and absolutely free, and any passenger over two years old can become a participant. A common principle for all programs: the “conventional units” earned on flights - most often miles - are a kind of airline money, which, if there is enough of it, can be exchanged for an upgraded class of service, a ticket, additional services of the airlines themselves, as well as the services of their partners from related areas activities (hotels, car rental stores, shops, etc.). The most important difference between loyalty programs, as a rule, lies in the mechanisms for accumulating bonus miles. Important: a competent participant of any loyalty program always calls (indicates) the card number before booking a ticket, so that the earned miles are immediately credited to the account (in most programs, after the flight, if you save your boarding passes, you can credit miles after the fact), and remembers that in the case of a flight on For an award ticket, taxes and fees are paid by the passenger.

"Belavia": "Belavia Leader"

How to get involved: To join the program, you must fill out an application form, the form of which can be obtained from sales offices or agents, and send it to the airline by mail. You can also fill out a form for participation in the program on the official website. The airline promises to consider the application within 15 working days. After the participant collects 1,500 qualifying points or takes three paid flights on regular Belavia flights, he will be sent a permanent program participant card. Until this moment, the participant uses a temporary card, which can be obtained along with the application form in the offices or printed from his personal account on the website.

How to earn points: Points within the Belavia Leader can be qualifying, which are awarded for flights on the airline’s regular flights and depend on the route and booking class, and non-qualifying, which can be additionally awarded as part of special offers, as “gifts” for certain events or bonuses for participants in the elite levels of the program. In order to move from the starting to the “silver” elite level, you need to collect 25,000 qualifying points during the year, to the “gold” - 50,000. Elite levels include, among other benefits, additional accrual of points: 10% and 25% on the “silver” and “gold” levels respectively.

What to pay attention to: Points are not awarded for charter flights or award tickets. Points can be awarded for flights taken 2 months before registration. The “expiration date” of accumulated points is 2 years. It is best to book an award ticket 4 business days before the planned flight.

Belavia Leader provides for participation in the program for corporate clients. An economy class flight on the route Minsk - Tel Aviv is worth 600 points.

airBaltic: BalticMiles- “new northern currency”

How to get involved: The application form can be found in the Baltic Outlook in-flight magazine, at ticket sales offices, at check-in counters or in the business lounge of Riga Airport. You can also fill out the form online at www.BalticMiles.com, www.airBaltic.com. Confirmation of registration of a “paper” application will arrive by email within two weeks, and a number will be assigned immediately (temporary card). After the first flight from the moment of registration, the passenger will receive a starter package with a plastic participant card by mail.

How to earn miles: Miles are awarded for flying on scheduled airBaltic flights and flights of partner airlines, as well as for using the services of partners from non-aviation industries. The number of miles earned on airBaltic flights depends on the flight direction and class of service: from 500 miles for flights from Riga in economy class to the Baltics, Scandinavia and Finland to 4,500 miles for business class flights to the countries of the South Caucasus, Central Asia and the Middle East East.

What to pay attention to: The BalticMiles program started on October 1, 2009 and is currently in the process of growth. In particular, the network of partners is expanding to provide members with more opportunities to earn and spend miles. Already now, program participants are exempt from the registration fee for airBaltic flights (5 euros for ordinary passengers). Award tickets and vouchers confirming changes in class of service on board are issued electronically. Children who participate in the program receive specially designed Young Pilot cards and earn miles in the same way as adults, provided they have a separate seat reserved for them. Miles can be credited for flights taken before joining the BalticMiles program if they took place no more than 30 days before registering as a member.

Passengers who previously had a high status in the Eurobonus system, after registering in the BalticMiles program, move to the prestigious BalticMiles Executive and BalticMiles VIP levels.

The flight Minsk - Riga will add 750 miles to your account. By subscribing to the BalticMiles program before December 1, you can become the owner of 1 million award miles.

CzechAirways: OKPlus

How to get involved: To participate in the program, you need to fill out an application in regular or electronic form or register by phone at the airline’s contact center. The program membership card is sent immediately after the first transaction is marked on the participant’s account: a completed flight or use of a partner’s service.

How to earn miles: Miles are earned for scheduled flights with Czech Airlines and its SkyTeam partners, as well as for flights with other program partners and non-airline partners. In addition, miles can be purchased or transferred (albeit in a limited number) from the account of another OK Plus member. Miles can also be awarded for recommending a new active participant in the rewards program (1,000 miles for each registered newcomer). A minimum of 500 miles is awarded for one domestic Czech Airlines flight, and 750 miles for an international flight. The number of miles also depends on the fare of the purchased ticket. When a passenger reaches the required number of miles, they automatically receive a Silver, Gold or Platinum membership card, which is valid for one year.

What to pay attention to: During the Promo Bonus promotion, additional miles are awarded for each flight. If an award ticket or other OK Plus reward is returned, 5,000 miles will be deducted from the program member's account. When changing the class of flight, a certain number of miles are withdrawn from the account of the owner of a “silver” or “gold” card for each segment of the journey, depending on the flight distance. You can receive a program member's account statement every month by email (free) or every quarter by regular mail (for 2,000 miles). New program members can earn miles for flights with Czech Airlines taken up to 3 months before the registration date. The accumulated miles can be used for 2 years, provided that at least one transaction is recorded on the account during this time. For the flight Minsk - Prague, 750 miles are awarded.

EtihadAirways: EtihadGuest

How to get involved: The fastest way is to fill out a form at any airline representative or at the check-in counter at the airport, so the passenger instantly becomes the owner of a membership card. The most technologically advanced is to fill out the on-line registration form. In this case, the membership card will be sent within 30 days. The “classic” way is to send a completed application form and receive a membership card by regular mail.

How to earn miles: Miles are awarded for flying on airline flights and using the services of partners (hotels, banks, car rental services, shops). As miles are accumulated, the member moves up from Tier 1 (Etihad Guest Tier) to Tier 1 (Etihad Guest Silver) and then to Tier 1 (Etihad Guest Gold). Each new level involves new bonuses, including when accruing miles. The number of miles accrued depends on the flight distance, as well as the class of ticket. For example, for a Pearl Business class ticket 50% of the number of miles is added, for Diamond First class - 100%. When registering, a new Etihad Guest member will receive 500 welcome miles.

What to pay attention to: The program allows you to receive bonuses immediately after the first mile is credited. If a member does not have enough miles to receive bonuses, he has the right to use the “miles plus money” combination. In this case, the passenger himself decides how many miles to spend and how much to pay in cash. Moreover, miles are also awarded for amounts spent on bonuses under the program. The program operates continuously, i.e. a member can purchase an award ticket even during the high season. An additional benefit of the Etihad Guest is the Family Card, which allows you to register up to 8 family members and transfer 100% of your accumulated miles from account to account, allowing you to earn award miles much faster. In addition, miles for flights taken 3 months before card registration can be restored. Etihad Guest Miles are valid for bonuses for 3 years from the date they are awarded. For a flight on the route Minsk - Abu Dhabi in Coral Economy class you are awarded 2463 miles.

Lufthansa, Austrian,LOT: Miles & More

How to get involved: To become a member of the program, you must register in a way accessible to the passenger (for example, by filling out the registration form on the website) and open a personal Miles & More account. To confirm the opening of an account, a new program participant receives a confirmation with a card number, which gives him the right to accumulate miles. The card itself is issued after the first mile is credited to your account.

How to earn miles: The number of miles awarded for direct flights is traditionally based on the distance between origin and destination, the posted minimum number of miles, or published flat rates. The number of miles is multiplied by the booking class factor in accordance with the paid class of service indicated on the ticket.

What to pay attention to: By subscribing to the Miles & More newsletter before December 31, 2009, you can receive 500 miles, which will be credited to your account within a month from the date of subscription. The program allows you to earn award miles on select charter flights. Miles not credited automatically can be reinstated within 12 months of using the relevant service. Award miles not used within 36 months from the date of enrollment will be forfeited at the end of the next quarter. Rewards received for miles can be transferred to close relatives or friends, but cannot be exchanged for other bonuses or sold. A flight in standard economy class on the route Minsk - Berlin with a stop in Vienna will add 3,000 miles to your account.

How to get involved: You can fill out the form in any format convenient for the passenger. The membership card is sent to the client after the first scheduled flight made by Turkish Airlines or any other company belonging to the Star Alliance.

How to earn miles: Miles earned through the Miles & Smiles program are classified as status miles and bonus miles. Depending on the amount, the accumulated status miles allow you to become the owner of a Classic Plus, Elite or Elite Plus membership card. Status miles are awarded for flights on domestic and international flights of Turkish Airlines, as well as flights of Star Alliance airlines; Award miles can be earned at partner hotels, car rental services or with the Shop & Miles Credit Card. Miles can be accumulated throughout the year and can be used within three years from the last time miles were credited. Despite the fact that issuing award tickets is often impossible during the high season due to increased demand, the validity of the program is not extended under any pretext.

What to pay attention to: Elite Plus card holders have the opportunity to participate in the program as a family. On the company's own flights, members can take advantage of the "companion ticket" service: the companion of a passenger using an award ticket can fly for much less miles than it would take to issue a second award ticket. A flight from Minsk to Istanbul in an economy class cabin will add 893 miles to your account.
