We flew to Israel at the beginning of June. At this time it was not too hot yet, we tried not to be under the scorching sun during the day. We rested on Alma beach, there were fewer people there. The beach itself is sandy, the sea is warm and very salty, just ideal for children just learning to swim. Nearby is Old Jaffa.
Of the excursions, my daughter and I really liked the safari: an open park + zoo in the suburbs of Tel Aviv. On a tourist bus you pass by animals: lions, hippos, rhinoceroses, ostriches, zebras, flamingos, elephants, giraffes. You see them literally side by side, it’s very interesting; in a zoo you can’t see the animals so close.
There are many cafes with European cuisine in Tel Aviv; you can easily choose a dish for your child: soup, turkey, chicken. I was amazed that the locals are very kind to children.

We vacationed in Israel last May. We were in Eilat with my husband and two children: three and eight years old. In May it is already quite hot, the water in the sea is warm, like fresh milk. It took ten minutes to get to the beach from our hotel. The beach itself is sandy, but there are pebbles in the sea, be sure to buy rubber slippers for your children, they are sold at every turn and are not expensive. We laid out towels, but you can rent sun loungers. We had breakfast at the hotel, lunch and dinner in a cafe. As such, there is no baby food available almost anywhere, but there are many dishes that are ideal for children. You can’t find dairy products in stores, just like baby food, so it’s better to take instant cereals from home. At the end of the embankment there is a large amusement park called Kings City, my eldest son really liked it there. We visited the aquarium museum and saw huge stingrays, turtles, and sharks. With children, be sure to visit the dolphin reef, where you can even swim with dolphins, our children were delighted.

Is it worth taking children on holiday to Israel?

Israel is an amazing country in its caring attitude towards children. They love them. In my opinion, a child is allowed to do everything there (within the law, of course!). And all rights are always on the side of the children. Don’t even try to raise your voice at your child there - the public will immediately look at you with a surprised and condemning gaze.

All leisure activities are primarily aimed at the interests of children. That is, when coming to the beach or a shopping center, the child will always find something to do there. And everyone really cares about the children. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Whatever place we were going to, I was always sure that it would be interesting for our daughter.

About loyalty to children, the first shock I had was on the plane on the way there. Our nimble girl decided to shake the bag of liquid puree and sprayed it on the girl who was sitting behind us. And what do you think? After my apology, she absolutely calmly said that everything was fine and that I shouldn’t worry so much - she’s a wonderful girl.

It’s no longer so hot during the day, and in the morning and evening you can calmly walk and enjoy the pleasant coolness. At the same time, the sea remains very tenderly warm.

What to take with you

A separate topic here is about nutrition. We still ate the mixture during the trip, so we had to take the jar with us. If there was a mixture of such a company in Israel, it could differ in composition. There is baby food in jars. This is fruit puree and vegetable stew. There is no more can range. Dairy products and meat in the country are not very good. Because for religious reasons, all original and derived foods are non-kosher. Therefore, for my meat-eating girl, I had to take cans of meat with me. And there is basically no baby milk here. There are instant porridges for children. But my omnivorous daughter did not eat them. Apparently, after ours, they are too natural.

We decided to buy diapers there. And I was right. The price is more expensive, but the quality is better. And what’s interesting is that we used diapers for girls at home, and when I asked if the diapers from our own company on the counter (there was a picture of a boy) were suitable, the seller rolled her eyes at me. I explained the reason for my question. She said that in Israel, producing and dividing diapers into “boys” and “girls” would be gender discrimination.

There are shampoos and household chemicals for children, but they cost exorbitant prices. If possible, bring it from home.

A separate topic is medications. But here is the standard set for traveling abroad. And simply expand the range of drugs for oral viral infections. Because Israel is very dirty. And most kids there pick something up.
