New trails and lifts

This winter season, a new (already 28th!) Daphne cable car, located in the Ober Khutor circus, began operating at the Rosa Khutor resort. It is part of a project to relieve congestion at the resort in the Rosa Stadium area (now it is not necessary to slide down to the Dryad cable car along narrow tracks past the upper lake if you plan to go up again later) and will facilitate access to (a unique snow park made from natural materials, which will open in January).

Parking at Rosa Stadium has been significantly increased (it is still free). Like last season, for those who went up there by car, a one-day ski pass will cost 100 rubles less. Thus, a company of four people can save up to 850 rubles per day (on parking and ski passes).

New trails of varying difficulty levels have appeared on the Southern slope. (red) which starts from the top of the Crocus cable car is now twice as long, and the red Oread and Adonis routes have been added to it. Another trail for beginners, Yavor 2, appeared there - very beautiful and long (3.8 km). Naiad was red last year - this season it will not be wasted, which means it will join the zones for light freeride.

The run-out area on the Southern slope has been changed and expanded; snow generators have been installed below. But by lunchtime on the Southern slope there are the same problems with the capacity of the cable car as last year, so we recommend going there in the morning.

To the left of the Edelweiss cable car (when viewed from below) a blue Alpika route has appeared, along which you can travel to Rosa Khutor from the Alpika resort - relevant for holders of a single ski pass (when it becomes available).

Evening skiing

This season the resort has increased the number of illuminated trails! In addition to the green (training trails) Chalet and Juventa, the blue Rosa Blade and red Rosa Star trails will be available. Evening skiing has always attracted the attention of uncrowded slopes and fresh corduroy, and now with variety for riders of different skiing levels.

Trails and lifts

This season, the resort will have two new training areas with green trails for those who are just planning to take up skiing or snowboarding. These trails will be equipped with rope tows. One zone will be located in the eastern sector to the left of the Polikarya Waterfall ski lift (K13), and the second in the central sector next to the Snow Star ski lift (K8).

The “Eastern Sector” was finally connected to the “Central Sector” - blue route 13T in the area of the avalanche dam. This will definitely make it easier to move around the resort. Previously, the red route was 2C which started at 1500m. up to 960m. this year it turned into blue 2F, it became flatter due to additional serpentines, and accordingly longer - 1.2 km, with a height difference of 470 meters. A small black area 2C appeared next to her.

The resort now has 4 designated zones (of which only one is open so far), where off-piste skiing will be allowed: 2 in the Central and 2 Eastern sectors of the resort. On the map, these zones are marked as black routes with a blue dash. Now freeride will be officially allowed in these zones. They will be served by the rescue service. All of them are located above 1000 meters above sea level. These sections are very difficult and unpredictable and can be ridden with special training and equipment.

In the upcoming season, tracks 2B and 2D in the Central Sector will be closed. In this place there was a landslide in the spring, the slope was strengthened in the fall, but the trails will not open this season, this area is prohibited for visiting. We do not recommend taking risks.

Evening skiing

Closed until next winter season.

Only routes 8A and 8E are open, access to which will be provided by the K8 Snow Star lift and the K9 rope tow.

Going to the Rosa Khutor ski resort to celebrate the New Year 2018, you can be sure that the holiday will be unforgettable. You definitely won’t be bored in this place - excellent hotels, cafes and restaurants, skating rinks and mountain slopes for skis and snowboards, saunas and swimming pools are open to tourists all year round. In general, sports and wealthy people like to relax here, but even on a limited budget there are affordable options for renting housing and entertainment.

Why do tourists go to Rosa Khutor? To go skiing or snowboarding. New Year's Eve is not at all a reason to leave sports equipment aside, because mass celebrations at the resort are also planned on the night of January 1, 2018.

Celebrate the New Year 6 times together with the rest of the regions of Russia, dance in a circle with Father Frost and the Snow Maiden around the Christmas tree, take part in a mass descent from the highway, admire the festive fireworks - this is the minimum program for those who decide to celebrate the Year of the Dog in the open air.

The climatic location of the resort allows you to spend a lot of time outside even after sunset. The air temperature on New Year's Eve rarely drops below -5º.

New Year at the hotel

Rosa Khutor has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Russia for several years, and winter 2018 will be no exception. Ski resort hotels are ready to welcome travelers from all over the world, providing their accommodation with everything they need. You can choose a room based on its cost, star rating of the hotel, level of service, or based on numerous reviews from experienced tourists.

  • The hotels closest to the ski slopes are “Radisson Rosa Khutor”, “Golden Tulip”, “Park Inn by Radisson”, “Mercure”. A day's stay in one of the rooms of these hotel complexes will cost from 20,000 to 40,000 rubles. Of course, the final price will depend on the room category (“standard” or “luxury”), the number of residents in it, and the chosen food system.
  • A little further from the ski lifts are the Rosa Chalet Cottages and the Rosa Springs, Riders Lodge, Rosa Ski Inn, and Panda Shelter hotels. You can rent a room for a day in one of these places for 13,000 – 30,000 rubles.
  • A little cheaper accommodation during the New Year holidays will cost in such hotels as “Sofia” (from 2,300 to 6,000 rubles per day per person), “Tatyana” (from 5,300 to 16,000 rubles per day), “Greek House" (from 3,500 to 5,000 rubles per day).

You can spend New Year's Eve both in your personal room and in the hotel restaurant. Traditionally, each hotel complex organizes themed parties, sets banquet tables, and invites creative groups to perform. The cost of a seat at the festive table is from 5,000 to 10,000 rubles per person.

All rooms in hotels in Rosa Khutor for the New Year holidays are booked almost six months before check-in. Therefore, it makes sense to think about accommodation at the Rosa Khutor ski resort as early as possible.

New Year's Eve in a restaurant

Traditionally, many stars of Russian show business come to Sochi for the New Year; at the beginning of January 2018, most of them will attend concerts and at Rosa Khutor venues.

Entertainment at the Rosa Khutor resort during the Christmas holidays

Most tourists go to Rosa Khutor in January 2018 solely for the pleasure of skiing, snowboarding or sledding on the mountain slopes. But the fun doesn't end there!

  • Every year, Grigory Leps holds a music festival at the famous resort with the participation of the brightest Russian pop stars. It is better to buy concert hall tickets for the event in advance. The cost of one seat in the hall is from 5,000 to 45,000 rubles.
  • Those who like to kick a puck or just go horse skating should definitely visit the skating rink, where there is an equipment rental service. Extreme lovers will be interested in the possibility of renting snowmobiles.
  • You can admire the beauty of the Caucasus Mountains from the cable car. The cost of one lift starts from 850 rubles per person.
  • In case of bad weather, you can go with the whole family to the entertainment and educational center “Park of Wonders”. A mirror maze, exhibitions of optical illusions, experiments in a real scientific laboratory - this is not a complete list of available entertainment.
