To visit the sea coast, the exact time has been deduced when the weather will be optimal for tourists to relax - from the end of November to the end of March. It is during this period that the temperature is the highest, and there is practically no rain.

Phuket beaches on the map. All titles are exclusively in Russian

Important facts that will undoubtedly come in handy when choosing a vacation spot:

  1. Free access. There is not a single private beach on the island, so it is possible to choose any, even the one to which the path of the nearest hotel stretches.
  2. All the best beaches are on the western side of Phuket, there is all the necessary infrastructure for a successful holiday.
  3. Holiday cost. It depends only on the possibilities of the tourist. There are hotels costing from 300 baht per day, and there are those for which you will have to pay several thousand (the cost of one baht is equal to one ruble).

The best beaches in Phuket

Below you will find information about each beach, with all the details that a tourist needs to know. Each place can be found on the map of Phuket with beaches.

Characteristics of the beaches of Phuket

Kata beach

This place is very popular among Russian tourists. Due to this, a large number of people come during the season, sometimes it is difficult to just find a place to stay. Is that in the central part of the beach you can find a small corner of privacy. On the right side of the beach there is not the most pleasant river, which has a specific smell, so it is better to look for a hotel in the opposite part. On the left side, the water is cleaner, and the very atmosphere of relaxation is much higher.

Karon

It is no less popular with Russian tourists, since it most often falls out to people on a tour. The scale is very impressive, the coast is striking in its size, it is huge.

It is better to come there in winter, as it is stormy at other times of the year. The best place for lovers of a quiet life.

Romantics will appreciate the magnificent views from the coast.

Patong

The most popular beach in Phuket. You can meet not only Russian-speaking tourists, but also representatives of other nationalities. Tourists from all over the world flock to it and therefore there are more than enough people. In the winter months, the water is especially clear, it is recommended to swim on the right side of the beach. Life here proceeds differently than in other parts of the island - all the time fun, noisy companies, an invigorating atmosphere where life is in full swing. Nearby there are many inexpensive hotels, the price of which is suitable for tourists with a limited budget.

Kata Noi

Located near Kata Beach. You can get to it through the hill on foot. Stunning views, mind-blowing are guaranteed. Hotels in the area are quite expensive and not suitable for all tourists. Often there are very big waves and you can rent a surfboard, which is what many people who come to this beach do. You can buy a special mask for snorkeling and admire the small fish that overflow the waters of Kata Noi.

Kamala

The place is ideal for a relaxing holiday with children. It is rather difficult to find Russian tourists, there are practically none. There are no waves at all during the season, however, when it rains, it storms. If privacy is needed, then you need to follow to the central part of the coast, there are practically no people there at all. Even in the center, the magical sunsets of Phuket are best seen. There are very few hotels in the area.

Laem Sing

A small beach located between two others. The entrance costs around 20 baht, so there are not so many people there - not everyone wants to pay for the opportunity to lie in the sun. The water there is clean, the landscape is truly fantastic. That's just with housing there will be problems. There are no hotels nearby, only a beach holiday and nothing more.

Surin

One of the best holiday destinations in all of Phuket. The sea in this place is deep, and becomes so almost immediately. The water is clean. You can often see big and strong waves. Hotels are more expensive than near other beaches. The price is high due to a certain “eliteness” of the beach, various celebrities like to relax there and the service is many times better. Another difference is the pine trees that surround the beach, which perfectly replace the palm trees.

Bang Tao

On the map you can see that it is located in the southern part of the island. Another quiet and peaceful corner, even in the midst of the season, you can find a place for complete privacy, due to the fact that it is very long. The sea is calm all year round, the chance to see big waves is almost zero. The beach is best suited for families with small children. Nearby you can find decent hotels with good service, various services, spas and expensive shops.

Nai Harn

The best beach in the southern part of Phuket. There are no waves during the season, but in the off-season their size increases. The sea in this area is clean. There are no hotels nearby, so it is not suitable for every tourist. But not far away is the famous French restaurant, which is run by one of the best chefs in Australia.

Yanui

Quite a tiny beach with clear water, ideal for snorkeling. There is only one hotel nearby (it must be said that it is very good), but a little further you can find others. The place is very sunny, you need to try very hard to find a secluded corner, hidden from the scorching sun. It is worth noting the presence of stones at the bottom of the sea. Yanui is best disposed to itself in winter, in other seasons there is nothing to do there. On the map you can see that it is located in the southern part of the island.

Banana

On the map, you can find it at the top, in the northern part of the island. This place is the standard of a tropical paradise - a rocky area that divides the beach into two parts, wild coconut thickets, snow-white sand, reminiscent of a white veil. The purest water allows you to see the attractive seabed. Particular attention in this matter should be paid to reefs, which in that area have incredibly charming views. The most interesting beach for tourists is Banana Beach, Phuket is proud of such a place.

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, and therefore offers tourists a wide variety of hotels, restaurants, cafes and attractions. In order not to get lost in this diversity and not to miss the most important thing, you can use maps for tourists. I tried to collect the maximum number of the most useful and informative versions, including interactive ones.

Phuket hotels are mostly located in the western part of the map. There is a developed tourist infrastructure and a lot of entertainment. The most expensive and secluded options are located in the western part of the Phuket map.

Many hotels are located in the center of Phuket. Most tourists who do not go for a beach holiday prefer hotels in Phuket Town, since from here you can easily get to the main attractions.

The most popular among young people are hotels on Patong Beach, as there are many entertainments, music, and dances. It also has a vibrant nightlife.

For families with children, hotels on Bang Tao, Kamala, Kata, Nai Harn and Karon beaches are best suited. All the beaches of Phuket can be viewed on the map below.

The main beaches of Phuket on the map

Phuket is considered the owner of a large number of picturesque beaches. Most beaches with developed infrastructure (with hotels, bars, cafes and restaurants) are located in the western part of the Phuket map. The beaches in the western and southern parts of the Phuket map are considered less developed and wild.

Almost all beaches have fine sand and a gentle entrance. However, there are also wild beaches where it is better to enter the water in shales (there are a lot of stones at the bottom and you can hurt your leg).

The six best beaches in Phuket (such as Kamala, Bangtao and Nai Harn) we have dedicated a separate one in which we talk about them in detail.

As a rule, I always use Google Map to find something on the map. But sometimes you have to resort to ordinary maps, some of which help you quickly find out where this or that beach and area is located, because this simply isn’t on Google. In addition, the street names do not match the Thai ones. At first I was so tormented before I realized it.

Most often, maps are needed even before the trip, but during it, it becomes possible to use paper ones, which are not difficult to get on the spot - either at the airport, or in a shopping center, or at a scooter rental point. Usually they are quite detailed and they show sights, shops, markets and train stations. Alternatively, use maps in GPS, for example, for Igo 8, we did this in Bangkok, it is very easy to get lost there at first.

About Phuket beaches in general

Briefly talk about the beaches of Phuket. The entire west coast is suitable for swimming, but the east coast is not. The eastern areas of Chalong Bay are good for tasting seafood dishes, as well as for inexpensive and long-term accommodation. However, the coast there is dirty, occupied by fishing boats and no one swims there.

The most popular beach in Phuket is (Patong), many compare it with Pattaya, as it is the most party place on the island: nightlife, clubs, bars, shopping centers, a lot of people. Therefore, if you need peace and quiet, then you definitely shouldn’t go there, I don’t recommend it. For a family and relaxing holiday, either on a rustic (Bang Tao) or on. And if you need something something in between, then on or. As an option, you can choose, but he is not far from Patong, there are also a lot of people there, although there is less movement.

My favorite, which is located in the south of Phuket, there are only a couple of hotels on the coast, the place is quiet and beautiful, near the lake. And if you have a bike, then from the same Rawai Beach, it takes no more than 15 minutes to get there. Perfect place!

Another, even more sparsely populated beach. It is located near the airport and is not particularly popular among tourists, because the infrastructure is not enough, and you can swim only in the central part, where it is deep.

To begin with, I present to your attention a Google map, on which I marked all the beaches on the island. Including private beaches of hotels, small and little-known beaches. Popular ones are also there. By clicking on a point, you can follow the link and read a detailed description of each beach and see photos.

Maps of individual beaches

And now a few maps are on the way.

Phuket town map

And finally, a map of the main and only city on the island - Phuket-town. If you come to Phuket by bus, you will most likely end up in the city. And also if you go to shopping centers or somewhere else.

The beaches of Phuket are some of the best in all of Thailand. And in general, Phuket is a unique island where, in addition to wonderful beaches, you can find a lot of entertainment. The best time for a beach holiday in Phuket is from late November to late March. During these months, all beaches will have clear water and a calm sea without waves.

Phuket beach

I'll tell you briefly about all the beaches. At the end of the article there will be a map on which all the beaches of Phuket are marked. We visited almost all of them, took a lot of cool photos and videos. Read more about each beach by clicking on the name.

For our picky taste, the best beaches in Phuket are Kamala, Surin, Bangtao, Nai Harn. They are good for both recreation and long-term living. Also of interest are the so-called secret wild beaches - Nui, Banana, Laem Sing, which are worth coming for picturesque views.

On the right side of the beach, a stinky river flows into the sea, the water there is not very clean, moreover, you will have to go to the sea along this river.

Rawai is an inaccessible beach, as it is very shallow, dirty and there are many fishing boats. Although this does not stop some people and people dare to plunge here.
