Detailed map of Montenegro in Russian with sights. Where is Montenegro located on the map of Europe and on the world map. Sights of Montenegro: description and map Download map of Montenegro in Russian

Montenegro is a popular resort due to its favorable location on the geographical map of the world, amazing nature and rich historical heritage. It is believed that the country got its name because of the dense "black" forests that surrounded the mountains.
Montenegro is located on the Balkan Peninsula. The coast of the Adriatic Sea in Montenegro stretches for 300 km and is the most environmentally friendly in Europe.

Here is where Montenegro is located on the world map:

Sorry, the map is temporarily unavailable

Montenegro's neighbors are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Croatia and Serbia. The water border separates the country from Italy. The capital of Montenegro is the city of Cetinje, and the main administrative and economic center is the city of Podgorica, which is located at a distance of five hundred kilometers from Rome.

The total area of Montenegro is 13812 sq. km. In most of the territory there are picturesque mountains and rocks, clear lakes and dense forests. In Montenegro, only the centers of the municipality are called cities. Out of 21 in total, 55% of the total population of the country lives in cities. In the largest city - Podgorica - no more than 150 thousand people live.

Map of Montenegro with attractions.

In this post you will find several maps of Montenegro, they show the main attractions, beach resorts, historical cities, etc.

There are also detailed maps of the most popular resorts (Budva, Kotor). If you need information about a city/resort that is not in the post, leave your question in the comments and I will definitely answer it.

I could not find a detailed Montenegrin map in Russian, so I decided to write a long post about all kinds of maps of this Balkan country. The maps for this post were collected from various places (commercial tourist shops, government tourist offices, websites on the Internet, etc.).

If you have a good Russified map of Montenegro, send it to me and it will be immediately placed in this post.

For your comfortable acquaintance with the cards, I will try to “Russify” them with my comments and notes.

Montenegro is one of the countries of the former Yugoslavia, it is for this reason that not every tourist can immediately find it on the map. In addition, the country is small even by European standards, the territory of Montenegro is only 13,812 km².

Pay attention to this map. It shows that many people's favorite Greece will be a little to the south, and all-inclusive Turkey will be even to the south. If we compare Montenegro with Turkey (especially for a beach holiday), then it should be borne in mind that the sea in Turkey is warmer, and the season is a little longer.

There is nothing to fly from Russia to Montenegro (about 3 hours), about which airport to choose, read the link.

What countries borders Montenegro

There are very interesting countries in the neighborhood (see map), some of which were previously part of Yugoslavia.

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina (excursion overview) - visa-free visit for Russians, you can visit as part of an excursion;
  • Serbia is a very interesting country, I recommend visiting it on your own;
  • Albania (excursion review) - in the summer, a visa for Russians is not required, you can be part of an excursion;
  • Croatia is an EU country, there is a tour, but you need to have a Schengen visa;
  • Italy - from the Montenegrin city of Bar to the Italian Bari there is a ferry, a Schengen country.

Tourist map of Budva, resort map with residential areas

Budva is the main tourist resort of Montenegro, the city is perfectly suited for mass tourism, so let's start with the Budva map.

On this tourist map, you can see how the Jadran Way motorway passes through the city - along this route you can drive the whole country along the coast, from Croatia to Albania.

The highway conditionally divides the city into two parts. If you are looking for accommodation in Budva (link is a detailed post about renting accommodation in this resort), then down to the sea - expensive hotels (Alexander Hotel, Slavyansky Beach Hotel, etc.), up to the mountains - cheaper apartments (there are quite a few proposals for the rental of private apartments and rooms with daily payment).

Be sure to read my general post about renting Montenegrin resort real estate, about its types and features of renting.

Residential areas of Budva on the tourist map

  1. Podkoslun- on the map, this is the extreme right side of the city (on the opposite side from the Old Town), in this area it is always quiet and calm;
  2. Rosine- in the very center of the map, here are located: the Budva bus station, the main market, large supermarkets and other infrastructure important for tourists, as well as a flat road to the sea (I lived in this area);
  3. Gosposhtina- a stone's throw from the Old Town, near the Mogren beaches, this area is always noisy;
  4. Lazi- a very hilly area (located above the Podkoshlyun area), it is high here, it is quite difficult to walk in the heat;
  5. Submine- within walking distance from Podmaine Monastery, this area is not very popular with tourists, too far from the sea;
  6. Dubovica- the area is located near the bus station and the city center, there is an excellent infrastructure and a smooth road to the sea;
  7. Bizheli- if you settle in this area, you will hear the Top Hill disco well, through the area there is Toplishki Put street, which leads to the disco;
  8. Vidikovac- the area is next to the Mogren beach, and has the most beautiful view of the Old Town, but it takes a very long time to go uphill.

Tourist maps of Kotor

Good transport accessibility opens up great prospects for this resort. The city has an international airport, a yacht club Porto Montenegro, a bus station, and a highway.

Becici on the map

In the neighborhood of noisy Budva (literally a 15-minute walk), there is a calm resort village of Becici. A small town is located on a hillside that descends to one of the best beaches in Montenegro. There are not very many attractions in Becici, but they are interesting.

Rest in this resort is suitable for those who love peace and tranquility. It is especially good for tourists with small children in Becici, as the local beach is magnificent, and the entrance to the water is even and smooth.

Petrovac on the map

The resort town of Petrovac is located 20 kilometers from the noisy and overcrowded Budva. Tourists come to this resort for family vacations.

Budva on the map

Budva is located in the very center of the Montenegrin coast. If you stay at this resort, this will allow you to travel around the whole country on public buses (link. Detailed instructions for using Montenegrin buses), while you can return to your hotel every day.

If you rent a car instead of a bus (link, my experience and car rental details), then yours (link, a detailed car route for the entire vacation).

Budva is the most tourist resort in the country, which results in both pluses (good service, a large selection of accommodation, markets and supermarkets, etc.) and minuses (many vacationers, high prices in restaurants, noisy, etc.) .

The resort town of Bar on the map

In the south of Montenegro, in close proximity to the Albanian border, the city of Bar is located. Closer to Albania is only Ulcinj, which is very different from other cities, and this is precisely because of its proximity to the border.

Many scold this city, in fact there is a reason. I would not recommend choosing this resort for a beach holiday, although there are several beaches in Bar. But in it you should (without fail) visit the Old Town (Old Bar), go shopping (sometimes there are discounts on old collections) and scuba dive (there are several certified dive centers in the city).

From the new Bar, which has a large seaport, ferries depart for Italy, so that anyone can visit the Italian city of Bari.

  1. On the Budva Riviera;
  2. On the Herzegnovskaya Riviera (Boka Kotorska Bay);
  3. The beaches of New Bar;
  4. On the Ulcinj Riviera.

Montenegro has a long coastline, the country has more than 70 kilometers of the Adriatic coast, where you can find a beach for every taste and budget.

There are several types of beaches in the country: sandy (often with imported sand), small and large pebbles (the most common), rocky (it is better to have special shoes to enter the water).

Let's look at the map and see that it is convenient to combine the beaches according to their location. We will divide the entire coast into several areas: the Budva Riviera, the Herzegnovskaya Riviera (Boka Kotorska Bay), the beaches of Novy Bar, and the Ulcinj Riviera.

The beaches of the Budva Riviera

The beaches of the Budva Riviera should be looked for in the very center of the map. Sand and pebble beaches prevail in Budva and its environs, some of them with rocky areas, but during the tourist season there are no free places on any beach in Budva. Walk along all the beaches of the Budva Riviera (from Budva to Sveti Stefan), you can follow the link.

Several popular beaches can be noted on the Budva Riviera: Lucice (Petrovac), Sveti Stefan, Morgen, Jaz and Ploche beaches. During the tourist season, all the beaches from Budva to Sveti Stefan are very popular, but the entrance to some costs space money (from 100 Euros and more).

The beaches of the Herzegnovskaya Riviera

The best beaches of Boka Kotor Bay are located on the Hercegnovskaya Riviera, it is located at the very border with Croatia (from Herzen Novi to Croatian Dubrovnik is only 50 kilometers). It should be borne in mind that in Herceg Novi and in the entire Bay of Kotor, there is no open sea, this is a bay with all the ensuing pluses and minuses.

The beaches on the Herzegnovskaya Riviera, as in most places in the Bay of Kotor, are rocky - this is not very convenient for swimming, and sometimes dangerous. In the most touristic places of the bay, the coast is simply poured into concrete, and you should enter the sea along a ladder, as if it were a pool.

This sounds crazy, but all these inconveniences are perfectly compensated by picturesque views. If you look at the photos of the concrete beaches of Herceg Novi, it seems like nothing, but this is a matter of taste.

The beaches of New Bar

On the map, the city of Bar should be looked for south of Budva, it is located between the resort of Petrovac and the city of Ulcinj.

There are several good beaches on the coast of Bar, they are mostly sand and pebbles, there is even a tiny beach with red, coral sand. But it should be remembered that New Bar is a major port and not the best place for a beach holiday.

Tourist map of Montenegro

Map of Montenegro

Montenegro on the world map occupies a place on the western coast of the Balkan Peninsula, washed by the Adriatic Sea. This state of southeastern Europe in the northwest borders on Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the northeast - on Serbia, in the east - on Kosovo, in the southeast - on Albania, and the border with Croatia runs along the western part of the country.

The map of Montenegro explains the fact that this country is often called the Eastern European Riviera - the length of the coastline is about 300 km, of which 70 km are local beaches. The Arrivo guide will tell you which region is best for a beach holiday, and where to visit historical monuments or nature reserves. Among the natural attractions, the Bay of Kotor, Skadar Lake, as well as the Budva Riviera, where the main resorts of the country are concentrated, deserve the most attention.

The most significant cities and resorts on the map of Montenegro are Budva, Sveti Stefan, Becici, Bar, Tivat, Kotor, Herceg Novi. The largest cities are Podgorica and Niksic. The country also includes 14 islands.

The main natural areas on the map of Montenegro are the coastal part along the Adriatic Sea from Herceg Novi to the mouth of the Bojana River, mountain ranges and the valley of Lake Skadar, which includes the valley of the Zeta River, the Niksic field and the Belopavlitsky plain.

All beaches of Montenegro

Despite the fact that Montenegro has a rich history and, as a result, a large number of interesting historical and architectural sites, the main wealth of this country is, of course, its beaches! On a very small coast of Montenegro there is a huge number of different beaches for every taste and color.

Basically - it's sand and pebbles. Concrete beaches are also common in the Bay of Kotor. South of Bar, sandy coasts are more common. The beaches of Montenegro can also please fans of nude sunbathing - nudist beaches are often found here. Many beaches of Bar, Tivat, Herzog Novi and Budva are marked with the Blue Flag, that is, they have the purest water. The average sea temperature in July-August is about 27 degrees. It is worth noting that the entrance to all the beaches of Montenegro is free (of course, this does not apply to beaches located on the territory of hotels). You can pay at will only for sunbeds and umbrellas and some other services.

On the entire coast of Montenegro, several rivieras stand out with their own unique features.

Herceg-Novskaya Riviera. Stretched in the north of the country. Pebble and concrete-pebble beaches prevail. On the territory of this riviera there are such cities and towns as Herceg Novi itself, Igalo, Njivice, Meline, Zelenika, Kumbor. The most significant beaches: Royal Beach in Njivice, having a blue flag, Blatna Plaza - a beach with therapeutic mud, Igalo(the main city beach of the village of the same name), beaches of Herceg Novi , concrete beach Topla , sand and concrete beach Meljine , pebble beach Zelenika . This riviera is home to one of the four official nude beaches. Sutorina (near Igalo).

Bay of Kotor (Kotor Riviera). The Bay of Kotor is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, and its settlements are under the auspices of UNESCO. For a beach holiday, this, of course, is not the best place in Montenegro, but many can find several advantages here. The absence of normal equipped pebble beaches is compensated by incredibly beautiful landscapes and warmer water. Most of all beaches are concrete. The main cities: Perast, Kotor and Risan have city beaches with concrete platforms. Also worth noting: pebble Bajova Kula (Bajo Tower) in thickets of laurel tree, sand and pebble Morin .

Tivat Riviera. In the vicinity of Tivat, which is not a very popular city for tourists among tourists, however, there are several good beaches. Tivat - the main city beach, Donja Lastva (Lower Lastva), Kalardovo beach (Kalardovo) and others.

Budva Riviera. Perhaps the most popular coast among tourists. The Riviera got its name in honor of the capital of the Montenegrin coast - Budva. This also includes popular resort villages: Petrovac, Rafailovici, Becici, Sveti Stefan. Which beaches should you pay attention to first of all? This is primarily the Slovenian beach (the main beach of Budva), Becici beach, Sveti Stefan beach, Petrovac, Buljarica.

Bar Riviera. People come to Bar not at all for a beach holiday, but rather for shopping and the Old Town of Bar. Nevertheless, there are also a couple of good beaches for relaxing in the vicinity of the city. So, Sutomore beach was awarded a blue flag for high service and cleanliness and attracts a large number of tourists to this village. Bar itself also has a good city beach.

Ulcinj Riviera. The Ulcinj Riviera can pleasantly surprise even those who, before getting into the vicinity of Ulcinj, combed the entire coast of Montenegro. This riviera is really very different from the usual Montenegrin coast. It is especially worth highlighting the sandy Velika plaza (Big Beach), 13 km long, the sandy Small Beach in the very center of the city, the beach of the island of Ada Bojana.

We present to your attention the largest and most detailed map of the best beaches in Montenegro! Almost all known urban and semi-wild beaches are marked on it, and a brief description is also given.
